34th Annual Kingswood Rummage



This will be the 34th year of the Kingswood Rummage Sales and it’s time to register for the event. If you are planning to have a sale, we encourage you to register. Last year there were more than 400 rummages during the Kingswood weekend, however, only 290 homes registered. The base fee is only $10.00, which allows you to be included in the listing and include information on items you will have for sale (up to 30 words) which will be posted on the Kingswood Rummage website. For $3.00 more, you can list up to 60 words. Thousands of people go to our website and print off the listing. The committee uses the money collected from the registration fee, as well as the sale of business advertising in this packet, toward advertising the Kingswood Rummages in the Sioux Falls and surrounding areas. We advertise in most of the East River SD newspapers, as well as SW Minnesota and NW Iowa. In 2010, over $3,000 was spent on advertising the Sales.

The 2012 dates and times that will be advertised are Tuesday, April 24 through Friday, April 27, 8:00 am - 9:00 pm and Saturday, April 28, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Even though we advertise Tue – Sat, you may be open whatever days you choose. On the registration form, please indicate the dates and times your sale will be open. Our out-of-town shoppers have asked that our sales be open as advertised. Please don’t list that you will be open Thu-Sat and then open on Tuesday or Wednesday instead, or be closed when you stated you would be open, or sell items you listed before you open.

If you are interested in serving hot food at your rummage, please contact the City of Sioux Falls (367-8760) for information. No permit is needed to sell pop, popcorn, candy or baked goods.

We receive many requests from individuals and groups from outside the Kingswood area who are interested in either going in on an existing sale or renting an entire garage during the event. If you have additional garage space to rent or if you are not having a sale but would like to rent out your garage, please let us know as soon as possible. We will connect you with an interested party.
